“Just bring us your knives and we’ll give you a pair of gloves”.
This is the story of a group of people that take children off the streets and give their lives structure by teaching them how to box. It is filmed on location in the South African townships of Khayelitsha and Kraaifontein giving you a visceral, blow by blow take of how coaches become heros, street kids become champions and how Maxim Kids is making a difference for the youth of South Africa.
The documentary follows the Maxim Kids team as the coaches prepare the kids for an end of year boxing event. Bear witness to the dedication and passion of our coaches and kids and finally watch our champions trade blows at the event.
We can all do something to help build a better world. Our kids need structure, discipline, education and care to follow the right path in life. We want to teach them wrong from right, prevent crime and steer them toward a better future.
